Pharmacist Ishaq Ibrahim Anka, Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Substance Abuse Control and Human Trafficking Agency, has announced that the agency is now blocking all channels through which hard drugs are supplied in the state.

Speaking with reporters in Gusau, the state capital, Anka emphasized that this measure was crucial due to the high rate of drug abuse in the state. He noted that disrupting the supply of hard drugs would help mitigate the security issues affecting Zamfara, as drug abuse is a major contributor to the region’s crime rates.

Anka also highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and urged residents to avoid engaging in or supporting the trade of hard drugs, child labor, and other forms of human trafficking. He mentioned that the agency’s primary roles include arresting, counseling, and prosecuting offenders, and he called for the full support of security agencies to effectively combat these issues.
