Fresh concerns have emerged over the quality of work on the ongoing construction of a “Smart School” project in Amaechi community, Enugu State. According to reports by Nigeria News 247, the project has come under scrutiny following allegations that inferior materials are being used for the building.

Eyewitnesses and concerned locals who questioned the poor standard of work were reportedly dismissed by the contractor, who allegedly responded by saying, “You are not the ones who gave us the contract.”

The statement has sparked outrage and raised further questions about the transparency, oversight, and accountability surrounding the project. Many residents have called on the relevant authorities to intervene, investigate the claims, and ensure that the school—expected to serve as a modern educational facility—is built to proper standards.

Community leaders have also expressed concern that substandard construction could put future students and staff at risk, urging the government to prioritize quality and safety over expediency.
