Emir of Zuru’s Death a Great Loss to National Stability – Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (retired), also known as Gomo II, describing his death as a great loss to the nation.
The late monarch, a respected traditional ruler and former military governor of Bauchi State, died on Sunday in a London hospital after a brief illness.
In a condolence message released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu paid tribute to the Emir’s distinguished service to Nigeria—both in uniform during the Nigerian Civil War (1967–1970) and later as a committed public administrator and revered royal father.
The President praised the Emir’s decades of leadership, noting that his reign brought peace, stability, and progress to the Zuru Emirate and Kebbi State as a whole.
He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the Emir’s soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant strength and comfort to his family, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the people of Kebbi State during this period of mourning.
