Dele Momodu, a Nigerian publisher and activist, has criticized the government’s display of military strength in reaction to scheduled protests, highlighting the disparity with the persistent security issues plaguing the country.

In a statement released on Thursday through X, he remarked, It’s astonishing that the Nigerian government can mobilize such a level of force and military resources while bandits and kidnappers wreak havoc across the nation.

His remarks were made as authorities prepared for #EndBadGovernance protests that began today by deploying extensive security personnel and equipment. This statement came after a video surfaced showing numerous police officers at an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, NIGERIA NEWS 247 has reported that the demonstrations have begun in Abuja and Lagos, among others.

Posting further, Momodu stated, “The good news is this government has already acknowledged and guaranteed the success of the protests inadvertently.”
