The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced an investigation into the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of 22 Kano State athletes and officials returning from the 2025 National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

The fatal crash occurred in Dakatsalle as the delegation was heading home after representing Kano at the national sporting event.

FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, represented by Zonal Commanding Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Ahmed Umar during a condolence visit to the Kano State Government House, stated that road crashes typically result from human error, environmental factors, or mechanical failures.
