Gov Adeleke Appeals to Citizens for Widespread INEC CVR Participation
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has urged all indigenes and residents to actively participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise. Describing the CVR as a vital civic duty, the governor emphasized the importance of registering, especially for those who recently attained voting age, and encouraged those who have lost or misplaced their voter cards to obtain new ones.
Speaking through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke stressed that the upcoming 2026 governorship election is crucial for sustaining good governance in Osun. He called on voters both inside and outside the state to update their registration details and transfer their voting cards if needed, underscoring that the voter card is a key tool to protect and express their democratic rights.
The governor also urged local government officials and community leaders to mobilize citizens for the registration process and expressed confidence that INEC will conduct a smooth exercise.
The CVR exercise officially began online on August 18, 2025, with physical registration at INEC offices starting on August 25, 2025. Eligible voters can register online at https://www.cvr.inecnigeria.org.
