Gov Otti Flags Off Agricultural Intervention Project, Inaugurates 17 Farm Managers

17 Farm Managers of Joint Agricultural Intervention Project in Abia State

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has launched a Joint Agricultural Intervention Project and inaugurated seventeen farm managers, each representing one of the state’s Local Government Areas (LGAs), in a bid to boost food security and transform agriculture in the state.

The initiative encompasses diverse agricultural activities, including piggery, feed milling, maggot farming, poultry and pepper farming, cassava and ginger processing plants, among others.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Umuahia, Governor Otti, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu, urged the farm managers to be committed, focused, and resilient in executing their responsibilities. He described the project as marking a new era of agricultural intervention in Abia State.

“Our charge to the farm managers inaugurated today is that we are stepping into a new era in agricultural intervention in the Southeast, starting from Abia State. We believe this will be a major turning point in our agricultural revolution, enhancing food security and boosting the economy for our people,” Governor Otti said.

He emphasized that while the project is spearheaded by local governments, it is implemented in collaboration with the state government to ensure success, stating, “We are all one people.”

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated farm managers, Mrs. Glory Nwaogbe assured that they would live up to expectations and would not disappoint the Abia State government or its citizens.
