Gov. Uba Sani Reaffirms Commitment to Education, Allocates Land to ABU Staff

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving the quality of education in the state.

The Governor made this declaration during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and his management team to his office. Posting on his verified Facebook page, Governor Uba Sani shared highlights of the meeting, noting the presentation of land allocation papers for staff housing in Sabon Gari and Chikun Local Government Areas.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to enhancing staff welfare, boosting morale, and supporting ABU in fulfilling its critical responsibilities,” he said.

The Vice Chancellor and his team expressed gratitude for the support of the Kaduna State Government, praising the administration’s achievements in education, agriculture, transportation, and inclusive governance. They highlighted Kaduna’s governance approach, which fosters a sense of belonging for all citizens, as a model studied by ABU faculties as an example for Nigeria’s democratic future.

They also commended the government’s efforts in tackling insecurity, making Kaduna safer and more conducive for residents, and pledged ABU’s readiness to collaborate with the state government to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna.

Governor Uba Sani reiterated that education is a cornerstone of the state’s transformation agenda, backed by significant actions including increasing the education budget share to 26.14% in 2025, constructing 62 new schools, building and renovating over 1,700 classrooms, reducing tuition fees for state-owned tertiary institutions by 50%, and commissioning three of Nigeria’s largest and most equipped vocational and skills development institutes.

He also emphasized Kaduna State’s readiness to work closely with ABU in expanding technical skills training, reaffirming continued support for the university as a centre of excellence and a national treasure.
