Gov. Yusuf Lunches Empowerment Program for Traders in Kano

The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, earlier today lunched a monthly empowerment program providing N50,000 each to 5,200 women in the state.

Nigeria News 247 gathered some reports that Gov. Yusuf did this to boost Small and Medium Enterprises in Kano. According to his post on hos X (formerly Twitter) account, the governor said:

“In our resolve to boost Small and Medium Enterprises in Kano, I had the pleasure of launching a monthly empowerment program providing N50,000 each to 5,200 women in the state.”

“Each of the different sets of 5,200 women spread across the 44 Local Government areas of the state would receive the cash, totaling N260 million, every month until the conclusion of my tenure.”

“The program, which is managed by the Community Re-orientation Committee (CRC), entails assisting 100 women from each of the 36 rural Local Governments and 200 women from each of the 8 metropolitan LGAs.”

It’s also noteworthy that this assistance serves as a gesture of gratitude to our women folk for their overwhelming support and commitment during the 2023 elections, he said.
