Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has appealed to the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to increase the state’s share of federal revenue, citing the need for accelerated development and project execution.

The governor made the request on Sunday while receiving Mrs. Nkechi Otti, the Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at RMAFC, during a courtesy visit to his office.

Governor Otti emphasized that an increase in federal allocations would significantly boost the state’s capacity to implement ongoing and future projects. He also highlighted Abia’s record of fiscal discipline, referencing a recent Debt Management Office (DMO) report as evidence.

“We have a lot on our plate. If we get more funds to execute these projects, it will go a long way,” he said. “We’ve demonstrated financial discipline, and anything you can do to help improve our federal allocation will be appreciated.”
