Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has thrown his weight behind a proposed bill that seeks to grant full financial and administrative autonomy to the 44 local government councils in the state.

The development was announced in a statement released on Friday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Yusuf expressed his support while presiding over the 31st Executive Council meeting, held at the Government House Annex in Kwankwasiyya City. During the meeting, the council approved the transmission of the bill to the Kano State House of Assembly for legislative action.
