ICPC interrogates Ngige over alleged job racketeering
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has questioned former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, over alleged contract irregularities and job racketeering at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) during his tenure.
This follows the ICPC’s earlier questioning of senior NSITF officials regarding the N47 million gratuity paid to the former Managing Director, Mrs. Maureen Allagoa, while she was still in office.
Ngige reportedly spent over five hours with ICPC investigators on Wednesday, addressing various issues.
A source revealed, “The former minister was invited and appeared, leaving Wednesday night. He was questioned on several issues, including contract awards, job racketeering, and the e-NSITF project approved under his tenure.”
The ICPC’s spokesperson, Demola Bakare, confirmed Ngige’s interrogation and release after the session.
