Jigawa Government Restores Bagadaza Bridge, Reopens Gwaram–Basirka Road
The Jigawa State Government has completed emergency repairs on the failed section of the Bagadaza Bridge along the Gwaram–Basirka Road, restoring a vital transport link between the North-West and North-East regions of the country.
The Jigawa State Roads Maintenance Agency (JIRMA) confirmed the development in a statement shared via its official Facebook page on Sunday.
The bridge had previously collapsed due to heavy rainfall, prompting the Jigawa State Police Command to issue a warning to motorists and deploy security personnel to direct traffic through alternative routes.
Following the successful repair, JIRMA announced that the road has now been reopened, allowing the free flow of traffic and easing travel disruptions.
Local residents and commuters have praised the state government for its prompt response and efficient intervention, saying the repair work helped prevent further hardship and ensured the safety of road users.
