Kano pledges 17,000 security personnel for schools, N3bn to upgrade classrooms

The Kano State Government has allocated N3 billion to improve classroom infrastructure in all 44 Local Government Areas.

Governor Abba Yusuf announced this during a meeting at Government House, Kano, emphasizing the project’s goal of providing a conducive learning environment for the people of the state.

Additionally, Yusuf revealed plans to hire 17,000 security personnel to safeguard primary school facilities, with 400 personnel assigned to each local government area.

He mentioned that security personnel from the same area as the primary schools will be hired to guarantee efficient service.

Additionally, he noted that each local government council will be allocated N25 million for refurbishments, with oversight from the Universal Basic Education Board to maintain high standards.
