Kano State Govt Orders New Appointees to Declare Assets for Transparency
The Kano State Government has directed all newly appointed political office holders to promptly declare their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The directive was issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, on Saturday during a capacity-building program for senior government officials held in Kaduna.
In a statement signed by Sani Surajo Abubakar, Deputy Director of Public Enlightenment at the Kano Government House, and released to the press on Saturday evening, Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the move.
“All the political appointees recently appointed by Kano State Government are directed to immediately declare their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau,” Ibrahim said.
He explained that the measure is aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in public service, preventing conflicts of interest, and strengthening good governance.
According to Ibrahim, the asset declaration reflects the appointees’ commitment to integrity and dedication to serving the people.
He further noted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is resolute in maintaining high standards of governance and accountability within the state.
