NAHCON Announces Major Workforce Shakeup, Appoints New Director of Administration

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced significant changes within its workforce as part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.

As part of the shakeup, the Commission’s Board has approved the appointment of Alidu Shutti as the new Director of Administration.

This was disclosed in a statement released over the weekend by Fatima Sanda Usara, Deputy Director of Information at NAHCON.

According to the statement, the decisions were taken during the Board’s 14th sitting, held between August 26 and 27, 2025. NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, emphasized the Commission’s commitment to implementing meaningful reforms.

NAHCON will continue to introduce other reforms for enhanced productivity,” the statement read. “The Commission’s executive arm has initiated the reposting of pool officers back to their respective ministries, departments, and agencies with immediate effect.”

Usara noted that affected officers received their reposting letters on Thursday, September 4, 2025. She explained that the decision to redeploy certain officers was made to eliminate redundancy and reposition the Commission for more effective and efficient service delivery, while also boosting staff motivation and performance.

To further support the reform agenda, the Board approved the promotion of deserving officers and endorsed capacity-building programs for all staff. These initiatives aim to equip employees with the necessary skills to meet NAHCON’s strategic goals.
