Nigerian Government Seeks Extradition of Simon Ekpa Over Biafra Map Declaration

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that the Nigerian government is working with the European Union (EU) to extradite Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra.

Major General Edward Buba, DHQ Director of Defence Media Operations, addressed the media in Abuja on Tuesday following Ekpa’s declaration of December 2 as the date for presenting a map and officially declaring the Biafra Republic.

Buba stated that the Nigerian government will coordinate with the Finnish Government through the EU to address the situation. He also emphasized that the military will continue its operations against IPOB/ESN.

Ekpa had revealed a map of the “40 United States of Biafra” and announced plans for a declaration on December 2, 2024, in an effort to advance Biafra’s bid for independence.
