Police Deny Claims of Falomo Barracks Sale
The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed as false claims that its barracks are being vacated and lands sold. According to a statement from ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, this misinformation aims to incite discord within the NPF.
Adejobi clarified that recent allegations about the sale of land at Falomo Barracks in Lagos are unfounded. He explained that the NPF is partnering with state governments and reputable developers to redevelop the barracks into modern facilities. The redevelopment, including Falomo Barracks, is progressing and will soon provide updated accommodations for current occupants.
He noted that occupants of Falomo Barracks Blocks A and B have each received Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) as temporary relocation allowances. This payment has been given to 347 families to facilitate their relocation during the redevelopment.
The statement emphasized that similar redevelopment projects will be undertaken across all police barracks nationwide to improve living conditions for officers and their families. The NPF rejected the claims of land sales and emphasized its commitment to upgrading barracks facilities.
