Police Recruitment: PSC Affirms Validity of Successful Candidates List
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has affirmed that it will not cancel the recently released list of successful candidates for recruitment into the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC.
It was previously alleged by the Nigeria Police Force that the recruitment process was tainted by corruption, claiming the final list included names of individuals who never applied.
Amid reports that the PSC had yielded to pressure from the NPF and canceled the final list, Ani clarified on Tuesday that such statements did not come from the PSC and urged the public to disregard them.
He emphasized that the recruitment exercise was conducted in accordance with relevant guidelines and legal provisions.
Ani further stated that the commission had just completed routine maintenance of its portal containing the list of successful candidates and assured that the recruitment portal had been restored with its original contents.
He advised successful candidates to ignore the misleading actions of certain groups aiming to undermine the commission’s efforts.
“The commission is dedicated to delivering a merit-based and inclusive recruitment exercise, ensuring that federal character, gender sensitivity, and merit are fundamental principles of its recruitment process,” Ani concluded.
