Speaker Abbas Expresses Sympathy for Zaria Flood Victims

House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas has described the recent flooding in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State as a tragic event. The flood, triggered by heavy rainfall in the Kogin Mata and Tudun Muntsira, Chikaji areas on Monday, caused substantial property damage and displaced many residents.

In a statement on Tuesday, Abbas’ media aide, Musa Krishi, conveyed the Speaker’s sympathy for the victims and his concern that such devastation occurred during a time when people are struggling to maintain their livelihoods.

Abbas has called for urgent intervention to provide relief to those affected and urged residents to remain calm as the government addresses their needs. He also appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to offer swift assistance.

Additionally, Abbas advised residents to take precautionary measures and adhere to guidance from relevant authorities on flood risks. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to address the broader issue of flooding nationwide.
