‘Those Who Deposed Me Not Worth Discussing,’ Emir Sanusi II Speaks On Reinstatement
Muhammadu Sanusi II, the reinstated Emir of Kano, has chosen to overlook the individuals responsible for his removal in 2020, considering them unworthy of attention.
Deposed by former Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over specific accusations, Sanusi II has been brought back four years later by current Governor Abba Yusuf.
This decision was made in light of repealing the Kano State Emirates Law 2019 and introducing the Kano Emirate Law 2024, with the aim of restoring the esteemed status of the Kano Emirate to its pre-2019 unity before it was divided into five Emirates.
Shortly after receiving his appointment letter at the Government House in Kano on Friday, Emir Sanusi II refrained from discussing the actions of those responsible, stating they are not deserving of his attention.
Emir Sanusi II expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf and the State House of Assembly for their courageous decision to reinstate him, lauding their bravery.
He emphasized the significance of their actions for the history of Kano and the entire nation, attributing it to divine timing and will.
Emir Sanusi II acknowledged that leadership is bestowed by God according to His plan, emphasizing that what is given cannot be taken away by anyone and what is taken away cannot be reclaimed.
