Timi Frank Urges Tinubu to Address Allegations Against Wike in U.S. Property Scandal
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the allegations of undisclosed property ownership in the United States involving Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Frank made the appeal in a statement issued to NIGERIA NEWS 247 on Thursday, expressing concern over what he described as the President’s troubling silence on the matter.
Reports from investigative outlets including People’s Gazette and Sahara Reporters allege that Wike acquired property in Florida, USA, using the names of his wife and children to conceal ownership.
“The President’s silence in the face of these serious allegations is troubling,” Frank said. “With detailed reports from credible sources and glaring evidence overlooked by anti-graft agencies like the EFCC and ICPC, it sends a dangerous signal that certain officials are above the law.”
Frank warned that the alleged impunity and perceived arrogance of government officials could erode public trust and potentially incite unrest.
“When citizens see officials like Wike seemingly untouchable, it damages faith in governance and fuels dissent. This is how revolts such as the Nepal uprising begin,” he said.
He also linked the government’s inaction to political interests ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, cautioning that shielding individuals from accountability for political gain would tarnish Nigeria’s international image.
“Allowing political ambition to overshadow the fight against corruption will irreparably damage Nigeria’s global reputation. The President must reject selective justice and protect the nation’s dignity,” he stated.
It should be noted that Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for Minister Wike, has since denied the allegations, dismissing them as baseless.
