Yahaya Bello Denies Involvement in Anti-Tinubu Protests
Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello’s Media Office has denied allegations linking him to the #Endbadgovernance protests. In a statement by Michael Ohiare on Wednesday, it was claimed that some individuals were attempting to frame Bello as a sponsor of the protests.
The statement described these accusations as “reckless and irresponsibly malicious,” emphasizing Bello’s commitment to Nigeria’s unity and prosperity.
The Media Office highlighted Bello’s past efforts to mediate between northern food transporters and their southern counterparts, preventing a potential national crisis. It also noted his support for President Bola Tinubu, including his role in challenging the naira redesign policy and mobilizing support during the presidential election.
Despite being a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bello’s location is currently unknown following allegations of an N80.2 billion fraud. President Tinubu has not intervened in the criminal case against Bello.
