ATBU Student Dies After Falling in Bathroom

A 300-level Computer Science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Naja’atu Salisu, was found unconscious after a fall in the bathroom on Friday morning.

According to sources, Naja’atu had gone to the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus for her morning shower and preparation for lectures. She was later discovered lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.

“She had completed her morning routine and left the clothes she intended to wear for class beside her bed,” said a roommate who requested anonymity.

ATBU spokesperson Zailani Bappa confirmed the incident, noting that Naja’atu was initially taken to the university’s clinic. However, medical staff were unable to locate a vein for treatment.

She was subsequently transferred to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by doctors.

Bappa further reported that Naja’atu has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites, with prayers offered for her soul.
