Nollywood Mourns as Veteran Actor Baba Gebu Dies at 82

Veteran Nollywood actor Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, has passed away. According to reports, the seasoned actor died on Wednesday evening after a brief illness.

The news of his passing was announced by popular movie director and actor Kunle Afod, who took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late thespian.

“It saddens my heart as I announce the passing of our great legend, a great actor who passed away after a brief illness. BABA GEBU, may your soul rest in peace,” Afod wrote.

Following the announcement, several Nollywood stars took to social media to express their grief and pay their respects.

Actor Yemi Solade wrote, “May GOD forgive his shortcomings, accept and rest his soul in eternal bliss. Amen.”
Akin Olaiya simply posted, “Rest in peace, Baba.”
Actress Saje added, “May his soul rest in peace.”
Abiodun Thomas wrote, “Rest on, Pa Olowomojuore, may God continue to bless all that you left behind.”
Actress Sola Kosoko shared a heartbreak emoji and wrote, “Rest in peace, Legend.”

Baba Gebu was widely regarded as one of the respected figures in Yoruba Nollywood, known for his impactful roles and contributions to the industry.
