Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri, has declared that he would not hesitate to remove the Bola Tinubu-led administration if there were any democratic means available to do so at present.

Speaking during an interview on a Channels TV programme, Waziri stated emphatically that he would act immediately if a constitutional process to remove the government existed.

“If I have the democratic means to remove this government tomorrow, I would remove this government,” he said.

He, however, clarified that since no such option is currently available, he would wait for the next general election in two years’ time. Waziri also dismissed allegations by the presidency suggesting that opposition leaders are plotting to overthrow the administration through undemocratic means.

“We are not toppling this government as Onanuga said. We are going to democratically remove this government,” he insisted.

Describing the accusations as “cheap blackmail,” Waziri maintained that the opposition is committed to holding the government accountable through lawful and democratic channels.
