The National Legal Support Team of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) paid a courtesy visit on Friday to former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, at his private office in Abuja.

According to Nigeria News 247, the visit was in solidarity with Malami following his recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ADC.

The delegation, which included M.E. Sheriff, Dr. Al’amin Muhammad, A.I. Garba, I.R. Abdullahi, and Saidu Yusuf, engaged Malami in discussions on internal legal frameworks and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections. The team also stressed the importance of strengthening legal institutions and promoting political inclusion.

In his response, Malami expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated his commitment to justice, national development, and good governance.

Malami formally resigned from the APC on July 3, citing concerns over the government’s handling of key issues such as national security, economic stability, and governance.

The meeting is viewed as part of the ADC’s ongoing efforts to consolidate political support and attract key figures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
