Amaechi: Wike gives condition to resign as FCT Minister
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will resign from his position if the forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) does not implicate former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Wike urged President Bola Tinubu to make the forensic audit report public.
Wike accused Amaechi of receiving a monthly allocation of N4 billion through his wife’s company to train women from the Niger Delta region. “Amaechi’s wife’s company received N4 billion every month to train Niger Delta women—that amounts to N48 billion in just one year. The forensic audit report contains this information. So, who suppressed it?” he questioned.
Appealing to the President, Wike said, “Mr. President should assist Nigerians by releasing the forensic audit report on the NDDC. I have always called for transparency on this matter.”
He added firmly, “If what I have stated is not in the report, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I don’t worship office.”
