APC Is Strategizing to Outmaneuver ADC-Led Coalition in 2027 – Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is actively strategizing to counter the influence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking to Channels Television, Governor Sule hinted at an imminent defection of another governor to the APC, emphasizing that defections are a deliberate part of APC’s strategy to weaken the ADC.
When asked if the APC has discussed how to handle the challenges posed by the coalition, Sule said, “Yes, we have discussed. It’s not something I will disclose here, but as they plan, we are also planning. We are in politics, and we are not going to just sit back and watch. The better plans will win in the end.”
He further noted that APC continues to attract governors and senators from the opposition, describing these defections as a key part of the party’s preparation. “You hear every day about senators and governors returning to APC. These moves are all part of a calculated plan — they don’t just happen by chance,” he said.
Responding to ADC’s claims that APC is using witch-hunts to discourage defections, Sule stated, “I don’t insult or underestimate anyone, including the opposition. That is not my style. But the opposition needs to find something else to say.”
On comparisons with the 2015 election period under former President Goodluck Jonathan, Sule argued, “Jonathan’s era is completely different from today. We are facing different challenges now, especially with the diverse coalition that formed the APC, including ANPP, ACM, CPC, and others. This is not the same as the current opposition we face.”
