The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following his warning that Nigeria’s social fabric could unravel if President Bola Tinubu secures a second term in 2027.

El-Rufai made the remarks during an African Democratic Congress (ADC) event in Sokoto over the weekend, accusing the Tinubu administration of lacking direction and cohesion.

In a strongly worded response, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed El-Rufai’s comments, describing him as a “political clown” who has been in “a tailspin” since failing to secure a ministerial appointment.

“His speedy fall from commanding heights to the political clown he has become needs forensic study,” Morka said in a statement issued on Monday.

He accused El-Rufai and his ADC associates of contributing little to the national discourse, claiming they bring “nothing to the political table except oversized ego, wild entitlement, and desperate ambition.”

Morka further criticized the opposition’s lack of concrete policy alternatives, questioning their ability to offer viable solutions to Nigeria’s economic challenges.

“If they hate our reforms so much, why haven’t they shown how they would bring back fuel subsidies or fix the naira without wrecking the economy?” he asked.

Despite recent criticisms, Morka expressed confidence that Nigerians would continue to back the APC and reaffirm President Tinubu’s mandate in the 2027 general elections.
