APC’s Adamu Garba Declares End to Criticism of Peter Obi, Calls Him a “Worthy Statesman”
Adamu Garba, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced that he will no longer criticise Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, calling him a “worthy statesman.”
In a post shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Garba acknowledged that he had been one of Obi’s fiercest critics during the 2023 general elections. However, he admitted to having a change of heart, citing Obi’s continued relevance and ability to resonate with the public despite being in opposition.
“Nobody attacked @PeterObi during the last election like I did,” Garba wrote. “But to some significant degree, he is able to reorganise and made himself shockingly endearing to many. Even in the opposition, I’ll no longer attack him like I did before, because he came to me as a worthy statesman.”
According to Nigeria News 247, Peter Obi, who finished third in the 2023 presidential race, continues to enjoy strong support from Nigerian youths and various civil society groups. He remains a vocal advocate for good governance, transparency, and economic reform.
Obi’s consistency and influence in the political landscape have earned him growing respect, even among former critics like Garba.
