The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken legal action against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged bias and improper involvement in the party’s leadership dispute.

APGA’s national chairman, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, announced on Friday that the party has filed a lawsuit in an Abuja High Court seeking redress.

The party is demanding that the court compel INEC to produce evidence proving that Chief Edozie Njoku was ever a national officer of APGA.

Ezeokenwa stated: “We are perplexed by INEC’s recent false claims that Chief Edozie Njoku and his group are APGA’s National Executives. We challenge the Commission to present any court order that recognizes Njoku and his group as APGA national officers.

“We assert that no such court order exists. INEC’s representation regarding Njoku and his group is false, illegal, and unfounded.

“Court rulings consistently affirm that the legitimate leadership of APGA resides with Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa. As a law-abiding party, we have formally notified INEC of our position through our legal team. We trust INEC will promptly correct any misinformation and respect the judicial rulings on our leadership.

“We urge INEC to address this misinformation swiftly, as accurate information is crucial for maintaining public trust in the electoral process.”
