The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized opposition figures Nasir El-Rufai and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, labeling them as potential threats to Nigeria’s unity and stability.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued a statement in response to recent remarks by El-Rufai, who warned that Nigeria could face danger if President Bola Tinubu is reelected in 2027.

According to Morka, the alleged attempt by Atiku and El-Rufai to influence the structure and constitution of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a cause for concern. He accused both men of trying to replicate the internal crisis that affected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and warned that such actions could undermine national cohesion.

“El-Rufai and Atiku want to do to Nigeria what Atiku did to the PDP,” Morka stated. “Their alignment with the hijacked ADC represents a serious threat to the country’s unity, peace, and progress.”

Morka also criticized Atiku and Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, accusing them of abandoning their campaign promises after losing the 2023 election to President Tinubu. He described their current stance as hypocritical, claiming they are now attacking the very reform policies they once supported.
