Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan stands no chance of defeating Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Bwala cautioned Jonathan against yielding to pressures from individuals urging him to re-enter the political fray. He suggested that those pushing the former president to contest have ulterior motives aimed at damaging his post-presidency reputation.

“I see that some unscrupulous elements are trying to hoodwink former President Goodluck Jonathan into politics,” Bwala said. “They want to ruin the reputation he has carefully built since leaving office and becoming a respected international figure.”

Although Jonathan has not publicly declared any political ambition for 2027, speculation has been rife regarding his possible return. Bwala, however, dismissed such prospects, insisting that President Tinubu remains unbeatable given the current political landscape.

“If President Jonathan decides to run, let me be clear: there is no politician in Nigeria today who has the capacity to unseat President Bola Tinubu,” he asserted. “I speak based on facts, not conjecture.”
