Kaduna LG Poll: APC Urges New Chairmen and Councillors to Prioritize People’s Needs
The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on newly elected chairmen and councillors to fulfill the promises made to the electorate. The party recently celebrated its victories in the local government elections, winning all 23 chairmanship and 255 councillorship positions.
In a statement from Salisu Tanko Wusono, the APC publicity secretary, the party emphasized the importance of serving the interests of the people. Wusono acknowledged the conducive environment created by the Kaduna State Government for the elections but noted that there were attempts by some forces to disrupt the process.
He urged the newly elected officials to embody the APC’s values of service, accountability, and development. “The people of Kaduna have placed their trust in us, and we must live up to their expectations,” he said, encouraging the officials to address critical issues in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and security.
The statement also expressed gratitude to the electorate for their support, reinforcing the party’s commitment to meeting the aspirations of the people and ensuring that governance benefits all communities in the state.
Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concerns about alleged irregularities during the elections and plans to challenge the results in court. Despite this, the APC remains focused on its mandate and the responsibilities ahead, reminding its officials that leadership is about service, not power.
