Alhaji Amadu Danfulani, a prominent figure in the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Gobirawa Ward, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Danfulani announced his defection on Tuesday during a visit to the APC state headquarters in Kano. He cited disappointment with the leadership of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and its founder, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as key reasons for his exit.

He also took aim at the ruling New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, accusing the government of implementing “anti-people policies” that, according to him, are out of touch with the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens.

His defection was officially received by the APC Zonal Chairman for Kano Central, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Ungoggo, who represented the state party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas.

The event also had in attendance top APC figures, including Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority; Alhaji Munir Haruna, APC chairman of Dala Local Government; and the Gobirawa Ward party chairman.

Welcoming Danfulani, Ungoggo reaffirmed the APC’s openness to new members, stating that the party remains a “big political family” for all Nigerians who are willing to operate within its constitution and principles.
