Ondo APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Akinterinwa, Responds to EFCC Invitation
An aspirant for the governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, has confirmed his intention to attend the invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday.
Akinterinwa, who competed alongside 15 others for the party’s gubernatorial ticket last Saturday, received the invitation from the anti-graft agency regarding financial impropriety allegations.
The EFCC’s inquiry focuses on Akinterinwa’s alleged mismanagement of significant sums of money during his tenure as Commissioner for Finance in the late Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration.
While reports initially suggested that Akinterinwa had been too preoccupied to respond to the EFCC’s summons weeks prior, he announced on his verified social media handle on Thursday that he would indeed honor the invitation.
Expressing confidence in the EFCC’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation, he affirmed his commitment to ensuring justice prevails.
