The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), regarding his recent comments about capturing the Southwest region.

In a statement signed by Sunday Bisi, the Osun PDP chairman, the party expressed concern over Ganduje’s remarks made during a political gathering in Ondo State, where he reportedly boasted about the APC’s intentions.

The PDP cautioned Ganduje to reflect on the political history of the Southwest before making public statements that could provoke unrest. They criticized his comments as reckless and potentially destabilizing, asserting that the people of Osun will determine their own leadership in the upcoming 2026 elections.

Bisi characterized Ganduje’s claims as misguided, pointing out his failure to secure support for the APC in his home state of Kano, where his administration was deemed disastrous. He warned that attempting election rigging in the Southwest could lead to serious consequences.

The statement highlighted the electorate’s backlash against the APC in the 2022 Osun governorship election, where previous attempts to manipulate the electoral process resulted in a significant defeat for the party. The Osun PDP firmly believes that similar repercussions await the APC if they continue down this path.
