Sanwo-Olu’s Media Aide, Gawat, Refutes 2027 Abia Governorship Election Poster Rumors

The Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on New Media, Jubril Gawat, has refuted rumors of his intention to contest in the 2027 governorship elections in Abia or Anambra States.

A campaign poster circulating online suggested Gawat’s candidacy for the 2027 Abia State governorship race under the Labour Party (LP).

In response, Gawat clarified that he has no plans to vie for any governorship position in any state. He emphasized his unwavering dedication to the advancement of Lagos State.

In a post on X, he expressed gratitude for the attention but emphasized his non-involvement in any gubernatorial ambitions outside Lagos. He stated, “The progress of every state is important to me, most especially Lagos State.”

While acknowledging the playful nature of the circulated poster, he underscored the importance of dispelling false information. He concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to Lagos State and well wishes for other states.
