“Stop Embarrassing PDP with Your Demands!” – Ibrahim Fires at Wike
Abdullahi Ibrahim, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sharply criticized Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing him of embarrassing the party through his repeated interference.
In an interview with Arise News on Wednesday, Ibrahim condemned Wike’s move to issue six conditions ahead of the PDP’s upcoming national convention, calling it “outrageous,” especially given Wike’s current role within an All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
“Why are you coming up with six conditions?” Ibrahim questioned. “You are imposing conditions on PDP, and the whole nation is laughing at us because of one individual who is effectively on the APC’s payroll. Enough is enough. We must draw the line; this cannot continue.”
Ibrahim acknowledged that he previously supported Wike’s opposition to the PDP’s zoning arrangement before the 2023 elections. However, he said Wike’s recent actions have surpassed legitimate concerns.
“I have defended him more than anyone else in this party, justifying his stand against the zoning formula in 2023. I have backed him in many battles. But there comes a time when a responsible person must stop,” he stated.
He emphasized the need for the PDP to safeguard its unity and reputation by resisting further attempts at internal blackmail and distraction.
