President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed that he and the late former President Muhammadu Buhari had their differences during the early days of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Characterizing Buhari as a headstrong individual, Tinubu reminisced about a particular disagreement regarding the party’s emblem.

This revelation came during a meeting with members of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), headed by former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

“We had our disagreements but eventually found common ground. We even debated over a symbol; he wanted parliament, while I preferred the broom. He was quite stubborn,” Tinubu remarked.

He further noted that despite these conflicts, they managed to reach compromises that led to the successful merger of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which resulted in the establishment of the APC in 2013.
