Two influential figures in the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and former Commissioner for Education Bolaji Abdullahi, have officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), according to a report by Nigeria News 247.

The development was confirmed by the PDP state chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, during an interview in Ilorin on Wednesday. He stated that the party is currently compiling a comprehensive list of members who have defected to the ADC across the state’s 16 local government areas. While the total number of defectors was not disclosed, Mohammed noted that lists from three local governments have already been completed.

Meanwhile, former Senate President Bukola Saraki has reiterated his commitment to the PDP, despite the recent resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the party.

Political observers suggest the defection wave in Kwara PDP may not be over, with expectations that more prominent figures could exit the party in the coming weeks.
