Jeamie TKV Eyes British Title After Adeleye and Allen Setbacks
Jeamie TKV is refocused on his pursuit of the British heavyweight title, after recent frustrations involving failed fights with David Adeleye and Dave Allen.
The 31-year-old will get his second shot at the vacant Lonsdale belt on October 25, when he takes on Frazer Clarke in a highly anticipated domestic clash. The bout will also mark the launch of Boxxer’s broadcast partnership with the BBC, airing live on BBC Two, bringing British heavyweight action back to free-to-air television.
TKV, currently 8-2 (5 KOs), first challenged for the title in April, but saw his hopes dashed when referee Ron Kearney controversially stopped the fight in round six. The title was then held by Adeleye, who vacated it to face Filip Hrgovic, a fight he lost on points two months ago.
“Everyone knew what happened with Adeleye,” TKV told Boxing News. “But then I was supposed to fight Dave Allen. He signed, I signed — that fight was going to happen 100% on October 11. But then the [British Boxing] Board ordered Frazer to fight me for the British title.”
TKV was left disappointed that he never got a rematch with Adeleye before the belt was vacated. “I was definitely p****d off when I saw he was moving on and vacating the belt. Just got to win the British and then we can circle back.”
