The captain of Lesotho’s national football team, the Crocodiles, Sekhoane Moerane, has declared that his team has no fear ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, NIGERIA NEWS 247 reports.

Lesotho, coached by Leslie Notsi, will host the three-time African champions at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday.

The two teams previously met in November 2023, when Lesotho held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in their opening qualifier match.

Despite being out of contention for a World Cup spot—having earned just nine points from eight games—Moerane emphasized that while they respect Nigeria, they will not be intimidated.

“Going into tomorrow’s game, we are not going to show fear,” Moerane said at a press conference. “We believe in respecting our opponents, but we won’t let fear control us.”
