Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has expressed his excitement over the signing of Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman.
The LaLiga giants completed the deal for the Nigerian international on the final day of the winter transfer window, securing his services until June 30, 2030.
Lookman had been heavily linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce, who were initially favourites to land the winger. However, Atletico Madrid acted swiftly and reached an agreement with Atalanta to seal the transfer.
Speaking on the move, Cerezo revealed that joining Atletico Madrid had long been a dream for Lookman, noting that the club’s decisive approach made the difference.
“He is a player wanted by big clubs, and the difference, thanks to an important financial margin, allowed him to come and play for us, which has been his dream for many years.
