REPORT, NIGERIA NEWS 247 – Nigeria’s Super Eagles have made a significant leap in the latest men’s rankings released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), moving up three places. The updated rankings were made available on FIFA’s official website.

The Super Eagles, who are three-time African champions, were previously positioned 39th in the world but have now climbed to 36th. This impressive rise also sees them advance from sixth to fourth place in the African rankings.

The team’s recent performance played a crucial role in this upward trajectory. In their only match during October, they secured a hard-fought victory against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya, winning 1-0 in a qualifying fixture for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Currently, the only African teams ranked higher than the Super Eagles are the Atlas Lions of Morocco, the Teranga Lions of Senegal, and the Pharaohs of Egypt.

At the global level, Argentina continues to hold the top spot in the rankings, followed by France and Spain in second and third places, respectively. England and Brazil round out the top five teams in the world.

The next FIFA World Ranking is scheduled to be published on November 28, and fans will be eagerly anticipating further updates as the Super Eagles aim to continue their climb.
