Iran’s Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that at least 610 civilians have been killed and more than 4,700 wounded since hostilities with Israel began on June 13, 2025—marking a significant escalation in the conflict’s humanitarian toll.

Providing the update via a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour described the situation as “extremely harrowing,” emphasizing that all of the casualties were civilians.

“Hospitals across the country have been confronted with unbearable scenes over the past 12 days,” Kermanpour wrote, highlighting a sharp increase from the previously reported 400 deaths and 3,056 injuries.

In an earlier post on Monday, Kermanpour provided a more detailed breakdown of the casualties:

  • 44 women have been killed, including two pregnant mothers who died alongside their unborn children.

  • 163 women have been injured.

  • 13 children have been confirmed dead, the youngest just two months old.

  • The youngest survivor, a four-year-old child, remains in intensive care with 50% burns.

The child’s mother, Dr. Rasouli, was an obstetrician-gynecologist. According to Kermanpour, the child’s father and infant sister were also killed in the same attack.

In addition to the civilian toll, Iranian officials reported that seven hospitals and nine ambulances have been damaged in what they described as Israeli strikes. Specific details about the locations or circumstances of these attacks were not disclosed.

The mounting casualties come as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, following a series of disputed military engagements that have raised fears of a wider regional conflict.

Global powers, including the United Nations and the European Union, have called for urgent restraint, warning that the continued violence risks drawing in other actors and igniting a broader war across the Middle East.
