Russian Plane with 87 Passengers Makes Emergency Landing in Turkey After Engine Fire

A Russian plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Antalya Airport in southern Turkey on Sunday after one of its engines caught fire. The Azimuth Airlines flight, carrying 87 passengers and four crew members, was successfully evacuated, with no injuries reported.

The aircraft, a Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95LR, had taken off from Sochi, a resort town on the Russian Black Sea coast, and was approaching Antalya when the fire erupted in its left engine. Emergency response teams acted swiftly to contain the flames and smoke.

The incident occurred under challenging weather conditions, and the plane landed on runway 36R at approximately 21:30 TRT. While the cause of the fire remains unknown, an investigation is expected.
