Breaking: Emefiele appears in court for a new arraignment.

Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, is presently at the Ikeja High Court in Lagos for his arraignment.

The embattled former apex bank governor faces charges of alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of billions of dollars.

Emefiele, along with his co-defendant, Henry Isioma Omole, is set to face 26 fresh counts before Justice Rahman Oshodi on Monday (today).

The charges, filed under the reference ID/23787c/2024 and dated April 3, 2024, accuse Emefiele of abusing his authority between 2022 and 2023, as alleged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
