Kidnappers of Benue State Polytechnic’s acting Rector, Emmanuel Barki, have demanded N70 million ransom for his release, according to reports from the family.

Barki and two other staff members were abducted on Thursday while returning to Ugbokolo from an official assignment in Makurdi. One of the victims was later released due to health issues.

A source close to the rector’s family, requesting anonymity, disclosed that the kidnappers had contacted them and demanded the ransom.
